Stories Alive Programs!

Through THP’s Stories Alive Programs…

  • We focus on social emotional growth, guiding children to find their voices, express themselves, gain confidence, and collaborate with others.
  • Children are immersed in the creative process of bringing characters and stories to life through the arts.
  • Children play theatre games, improvise, act, sing, move, and make art.
  • Children’s storytelling tools are engaged; voice, body, imagination, and emotions.

AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES!
The Weekly Workshop! 8 – 12 weeks of acting fun for children from 4 – 10 years during fall, winter, or spring. We play theater games to grow acting skills, explore stories, and bring characters to life. Children play, act, sing, and move.

SPRING BREAK CAMP!
Our One-Week Camp for 5 – 10 year olds will give your child a taste of THP’s summer camp. After exploring a couple stories, we choose one story and bring it to life. Children play, improvise, act, sing, move, and create art.

SUMMER CAMP!
THP offers 2-week sessions for 5-10 year olds and a 1-week session for 4-5 year olds. During our summer camp we we choose one children’s story and bring it to life. Children act, sing and dance, learn lines, create scenery and sets, and wear costumes. We share this exciting, live theater experience with our families.

Seeking CIT’s and Counselors for our After-School Programs

Counselors-In-Training: 12 – 14 year olds
We’re looking for CIT’s who know how to play and enjoy being around children. It’s great if they love theater and have performed on stage, but it’s not required. Use the above link to register as a C-I-T.

Counselors: 15+ year olds
During our after-school programs, counselors volunteer their time. It’s a great way to learn about THP and what we look for in teen leadership. It’s also a way to earn volunteer hours for school. Please get in touch with Amy Forbes if your teen is interested in volunteering as a counselor.

2027 Summer Camp

The Story! We choose one children’s story per session and take a deep dive into the creative process of bringing it to life. Children act, improvise, sing, and move/dance, expressing themselves individually and as a group. We share this live theater experience with our families and close friends.

The Art! Children are immersed in a variety of mediums and methods of creating art. Individual art pieces cover our walls. Collaborative art, painted cloth backdrops, and cardboard flats adorn our stage and bring the visual world of the story to life.

A note about campers joining us for more than one session. Most often, we tell the same story for each two-week camp session. Please know that if your child participates in more than one session, they’ll be a part of the same story, but they’ll play a different character and wear a different costume. The visual art we create does vary throughout the summer, yet there may be similar pieces that we repeat. We find that most children take away different things when they join us for more than one session and become leaders or find comfort in already knowing the songs and movement.
