Community Adventures!
THP offers storytelling adventures for children and their families. Our programs explore a variety of children’s literature, bringing stories to life through play. We create dialogue, improvise, sing and move to music. Amy Forbes, THP founder and teaching artist, leads players through a chosen story, encouraging them to share imaginings and test ideas. The focus is on the process and the goal is to support children as they create distinctive voices while collaborating with their fellow players.

Libraries and Youth Organizations
A THP program begins with vocal and physical warm-ups where we engage our storytelling tools, voice, body, imagination and feelings. We experiment with our voices, move to music, try on characters or dance our emotions. After reading the story, we make a plan to act it out. We choose characters, define the setting and enter the world of the story. Amy asks questions to create dialogue and focus the action. Finally, we discuss the adventures of the day. Parents and siblings are welcome to join or observe the fun.
Farmer’s Markets and Family Days
THP will work with your organization to offer a fun, exciting experience for the community. We’ll join for the entire event and offer scheduled storytelling times for families. Costumes, props and colorful backdrops help us set the stage. We often add more fun, such as art projects, face painting, bubbles and more!
