Description
Interactive assemblies involve your students and their storytelling tools; voice, body, imagination, and emotion. Equipped with music, backdrops, scenery, props, costumes, and a sound system, Amy leads students through a chosen story. All students become willing and excited participants as they bring a story to life, whether they are in the audience or on stage. Curriculum Options: Literacy, Social Studies, SEL
Point Person
Prior to the assembly, Amy communicates with a point person to determine the chosen story and all details pertaining to its presentation, including space and equipment needs. Amy may choose to visit your school ahead of time to assess the best way to set up her sound system and the stage area.
Teacher/School Support
Teachers choose 15-20 students per assembly to participate on stage as actors. Amy meets with those students for 30 minutes before the assembly to rehearse and put costumes on. One to two volunteers or school staff are needed to help the student actors as they put costumes on and to guide and monitor them when they are on or off stage. To prepare all of the students for the assembly, all teachers read the story to their class or share a video/audio read aloud.
Flexibility!
If your school’s needs do not fit within the framework of the programs listed above, please ask about other options. Amy is happy to collaborate with you to develop programs that do not appear on this list.
