Amy Forbes was absolutely wonderful! The teachers and students all enjoyed Amy’s storytelling performance. (It) connected the literacy skills we teach at those grade levels (K-2), along with incorporating SEL (social/emotional learning) components. She really did a nice job connecting with the children and having them all be part of the storytelling experience. We received a lot of positive feedback from classroom teachers.

As well, Amy’s enthusiasm and her vision of the performance was thought out and communicated to the team. She even took the time to meet with us prior to her scheduled date to view the technology and space. This was all very much appreciated. It was a wonderful experience. We look forward to having Amy return for another storytelling performance in the future.

Treehouse Players is a magical program that offers children the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of ways. Amy is a master at nurturing creativity and growth.  Her energy is boundless.  She meets her students where they are developmentally and has a gift for building confidence and joy in her students.

We had Amy Forbes at the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library for a “Stories Alive: Fractured Fairytale Workshop” after school.  What a treat!  Amy guided the group through some brief movement and voice exercises with unparalleled energy and enthusiasm.  Then, the real magic began.  Without sets, costumes, or even a script, the group formulated a fractured fairytale that involved each and every child.  Kids were encouraged to improvise and assume the roles of storytellers and stars of the show.  I watched as shy children gained confidence and kids who walked in as strangers left as friends. I can wholeheartedly recommend Amy for any library program!

We have had Amy Forbes come to Guilford Center for Children for years. We all find her engaging, fun, positive energy infectious in our classrooms. Even a reluctant participant joins in fully and enjoys their time with her. She is always open to integrating current classroom curriculum and all of her work supports the social and emotional growth of our community of learners. We are so thrilled by each story that Amy brings to life in our classrooms and the time that our children have with her cannot be missed!

The kindergarten teachers and students at Northeast Academy felt fortunate to have Amy come in and share her gift of storytelling. She incorporated music, movement, and feelings in the telling of her stories.  By the end of her time with us, students were applying their knowledge of storytelling elements.  Amy had the students in the palm of her hand as she worked with them to bring the stories to life. Her highly engaging manner captivated our students and inspired their love of story.

We absolutely loved having Ms. Amy from Treehouse players for storytelling in our first grade classroom.  Her classroom management was excellent, she was engaging, was prepared and had great ideas every time she came to our classroom. She incorporated whole body movements, social/emotional concepts, music and treated each child as an individual.  You can tell she is passionate about what she does and we are so glad that she was incorporated into our classroom this year at Northeast Academy.

Thank you so much for the lovely experience you have given the kids. When it comes to Parker and his progress, we celebrate every little victory. He couldn’t stop talking about how he stayed for lunch even just that one day. When we see how proud he is of himself and that he can get up in front of a crowd we know it’s because of the nurturing environment he is in and that he feels 100% comfortable. To us it’s priceless and it’s all because of you and your connection to the kids.
